Guest speaker Bill Ferrin encourages us to consider the default scripts we can follow as we go through life.  Looking at several stories from Genesis and the Gospels, we see how God challenges people to change their old ways of thinking or approaching life, surrendering to Him, before they can experience the fullness of His plans for them.  God calls us to that same place of surrender.

Pentecost: Instructions & Power for the Journey with God

Exodus 19 and Acts 2 Guest speaker Jesse Andreasen shares a message about the biblical holiday of Pentecost (Shavuot in Hebrew).  This study explores the unmistakable parallels between the giving of the 10 Commandments (commemorated on Pentecost) and the outpouring of the Spirit in Acts 2.  These texts help us to recognize the context in which God gave these gifts and challenges us to renew our commitment to the mission He has for His people.

Experiencing God in Truth Series We will study truth (against the backdrop of rising confusion) using the Heidelberg Catechism as our guide. Topics include the Purpose of Man; The Fall; Sin and Depravity; The Trinity; Judgment and Mercy; The Gospel; Faith; and the Sacraments. This Week Genesis 2, Exodus 16, Psalm 95, Hebrews 3 and Question 103 from the Heidelberg Catechism.  God commanded a day of rest for his people, but the Sabbath was also meant to foreshadow the rest that Christ would bring.

This Week Psalm 8, Matthew 5, Acts 19 and Questions 99-100 of the Heidelberg Catechism.  Pastor Darin challenges the most common interpretation of what it means to take the Lord's name in vain.  God's name is worthy to be praised, may we be worthy of bearing that name.
